How Nannies of Greece Screens and Matches Nannies.

Choosing childcare involves both checking a candidate’s background and understanding how the role fits your family. At Nannies of Greece, our process combines candidate screening with a personal conversation about your children, routines and expectations.

What our screening process includes.

We screen candidates through a personal interview, reference calls, checks on previous employment and a background check. These steps help us understand the person, their work history and the experience they bring to childcare.

Our published nanny application criteria include at least three years of full-time nanny experience, strong childcare references, relevant education or equivalent knowledge, and a clear background check. We also look for a caring, professional approach to children and families.

Ask the team how a candidate’s experience relates to your particular role. Caring for a newborn, managing an after-school routine and accompanying a family on a trip can involve different practical requirements. Where qualifications or particular skills matter to you, include them in the brief and discuss them before agreeing a placement.

Understanding what a good match means to you.

Our family consultation explores your values, interests, parenting approach and everyday routine. It also covers the practical details: location, hours, children’s ages, language preferences and the responsibilities of the role.

A useful brief is specific enough for a candidate to understand a normal day. Describe school journeys, activities and the way you like to communicate. For live-in or travel roles, include accommodation, time off and the itinerary as relevant.

The team uses these requirements when introducing suitable profiles. Candidate availability and the practical fit are confirmed during the search rather than assumed from a general service description.

Making introductions at your pace.

We help arrange interviews and trial periods so both the family and candidate can explore the fit. Interviews give you a chance to discuss everyday scenarios, ask about relevant experience and share your expectations.

  • Ask how the candidate has supported children of a similar age.
  • Talk about communication, routines and the responsibilities of the role.
  • Explain any transport, language, travel or accommodation requirements.
  • Give the candidate space to ask about your family and the arrangement.

Agree the practical details of any trial in advance. Use the time to observe the interaction and discuss how the routine feels for everyone. Screening provides useful information; an introduction and trial help you explore the working relationship.

Agreeing the role and staying supported.

Before care begins, clarify working hours, duties, start date, fees and applicable terms. Make any accommodation or travel arrangements explicit. Clear expectations give the placement a more straightforward starting point.

Our support continues beyond placement. Keep in touch with the team as the routine develops, particularly if responsibilities or schedules need discussion. Early communication gives everyone a better chance to understand and resolve practical questions.
